FACTS

  • A proboscis allows them to suck nutrients from soft-bodied invertabrates.
  • Usually eight legs (four pairs), but species with five and six pairs exist.
  • Arent arachnids, but they are insects.
  • Their heart beats anywhere from 90 to 180/minute
  • Carnivores and feed on hydroids, soft corals, anemones and bryozoans
