why is this SO HARD?

  • 50% has already been preserved, but no visibility of this area on the map
  • Harvest level has dropped by almost a third since 2001, but...
  • ... another 16% reduction drop in harvesting required
  • Challenge is - How to achieve this without impacting jobs and economy
  • Eco-groups skeptic; much progress since 2009 land-use act came into effect

My Perspective

  • Environmentalists concerned on Mid Coast & North Coast Timber Supply Area
  • Environmental groups and the forest industry are working colloboratively
  • Many challenges, not all eco-systems the same
  • They are taking human well being into consideration
  • Progress may seem slow, but it is moving in the right direction

thank you!!!
