POEM

Words organized in such a way that there is a pattern of rhythm, rhyme and/or meaning.

SPEAKER

The voice used by a poet to speak a poem. Often a created identity.

A long poem that tells a story, often set to music. 

CONCRETE

Poem that experiments with the very materials of itself.

FREE VERSE

Modern type of poetry that does not contain and regular pattern of rhythm. 

LYRIC

Shorter poems of intense feeling and emotion.
