The tide water homes are built high up on either stilt pillars or with crawl spaces it's flood free and helps. circulate air to cool down the home on hot summer days .

Not only does the house work well with the climate, it has great architectural value. With the wrap around porches and broad hipped roof with many windows it'd makes it an enjoyable place to live and raise a family.

Luxury tide water home

Tide water homes have been built since the 1800s to fit the climate and are continued being built to more fit comfort. These type of homes have been found all over the south coast mostly in the rich areas.

Some characteristic of the tide water home besides the roof, structure and porch is the huge gaping windows that would look out at the coast line. The main theme of the houses were big and impressive from the porch to the windows to the door. Big was better.

Most of the tide water homes are three to even four stories!

Last but not least, tide water homes are built for luxury. Not only do they fit the environment but they create big open space to relax in. Their southern style homes are being found all over the coasts from east to west.
