  • The elements of nature are the sun, the hollyhocks and the rain
  • The sun represents hope
  • The rain represents tragedy
  • The hollyhocks are society; they are the human race
  • As a society, we look towards a new hope when tragedy is among us

  • Pollen from flowers
  • Guided by the windy air
  • In search of new life
  • The meaning of this haiku is that spring is a time of fertility in nature

  • The merciless heat
  • Finding refuge in summer
  • There is no escape
  • This haiku symbolizes that the heat is like a child aging, you cannot runaway from the inevitable

  • Thanksgiving is fun
  • Where families celebrate,

  • The meaning of the haiku is Thanksgiving is a special holiday during the season of fall
