  • Your parents or guardians show their love for you in two ways
  • Threw feelings and responsible actions.

TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • To protect you parents make several rules
  • Examples are no smoking or drinking.
  • If those rules are broken certain consequences will be handed out.

TO FOLLOW RULES AND LAWS.

  • Your parents and guardians teach you a lot about rules and laws
  • Example. Say your part of a sport. There are many rules that the sports team must follow
  • Such as ASA's rules.

CHANGES IN FAMILY

  • When family changes occur so does stress
  • Stress- is the body's reaction to the demands of daily life

WAYS TO AVOID STRESS

  • Get plenty of sleep and rest
  • Keep a healthy diet
  • Exercise
  • Don't use substances that may harm your body

TYOES OF CHANGES

  • Separation: is when a married couple choose to be apart
  • Divorce: when a married couple legally separate and end their marriage
  • Remarriage: is when a person who was married before marries again
  • Stepfamily: when an already married person with or with out kids marries
  • someone with/out marry and have more kids

DEATH OR INJURY OF A FAMILY MEMBER

  • Someone In the family gets sick or injured or dies
  • Premature Death: when someone dies before they reach their life expectancy
  • It causes pain and grief
  • The person can die at any age

IMPROVING FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Keep a journal to write down thoughts or feelings
  • Talk to someone(adult, friend, therapist)
  • Join a group

CAUSES OF DIFFICULT FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Drug Dependency (chemical dependence)-
  • taking drugs even though you understand it's harm
  • Addiction- a condition of being addicted to a substance or activity
  • Workaholism- an addiction to work
  • Abuse- harm to another person

CAUSES OF DIFFICULT FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS CONT.

  • Violence- using physical force to harm hurt something
  • Domestic Violence- violence that happens within a family
  • Abandonment- someone removing themselves intentionally from
  • they are responsible for

CALCULATED RISKS

  • A calculated risk is after looking at all the possible outcomes you decide is okay
  • Example is deciding to go to the mall

  • An unnecessary risk is a risk that you think better of when you find out the consequences
  • And example is: driving your car without fastening your seatbelt.

  • You learn to express love, anger and fear
  • Your sex tone is the action/ feelings you have because your a male or female.
