• Most prominent symptoms have abated
• Some features, like hallucinations and flat affect remain 
• None of the characteristics are found in all other types

Diagnosis

• There are no definite ways of diagnosis
• Factors suggest diagnosis, but don't confirm it
• Psychiatrists will interview and ask about:
• 1. Developmental, genetic and family history
• 2. Course of illness and duration of symptoms
