Example I Silas Marner: In Silas Marner, you have a theme the deals with class. Silas' house and the Cass' house. The two houses close together but very different, have to do with the class the people are put into. There is also the local church and tavern, 'The Rainbow', a place where the whole town goes. In the town of Raveloe the class boundaries do not always lead everyone happy. The money, in fact does have a negative effect on the people such as Dunstan, Godfrey, and Silas before he took in Eppie.
Example II Historical Fiction: In Between Shades of Gray, the theme would be, having hope in difficult times helps people get through a situation. For Lina and her family, having hope while in the carts and on the farms kept them going and made them want to strive to make it through to the next day, despite all of the obstacles in their way.
Example III Persuasive Writing: In the persuasive writing, 'Distracted Driving', the theme has to do with your opinion on distracted driving. The theme for my writing was oppose distracted driving. It can not only lead you to hurt yourself but also others in the car and around you.
