PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ANCIENT INDIAN ACHIEVEMENTS

The lasting works of this civilization

Indian scholars invented many mathematical systems. They came up with decimals stretching out to infinity, and the number zero. Despite this fact, America did not inherit this number and system from India, and created it originally as well. One mathematician, similarly to one in Mesopotamia, estimated pi and found the days of the year.

Indian architects and engineers had many great builds in architecture. One building common throughout India is the stupa, a holy place to hold relics. The gateways were inscribed with stories and biographies of the Buddha. Buddha is a term referring to a teacher of Buddhism who's ideas helped originate the Buddhist religion.
