IMPERIALISM:
- Imperialism is when a country spreads their influemce and power through military force or dipomacy
Washington didn't like the idea of imperialism because he belived it was better to mind our own business and worry about our own problems
In manifest destiny we pushed whatever Indians who didn't conform to our customs and we took their land. Manifest destiny was more by force than imperialism
Imperialism used social Darwinism as an excuse to create new markets and gained control of the phillipines. It was more of a less invasive approach
Imperialism is good in some ways, because it spreads ideas across many regions of the world. It can also build a weaker country up. It's bad too, because countries can start fights over who stays and goes.
In conclusion I think that the most important reason why the u.s became more imperialistic is because they wanted more ways to sell and trade to better America.
