PRESENTATION OUTLINE

AMAZING INSECTS

BY: VICTORIA HUYNH

All insects have 6 legs, 3 body parts, an antenna, and an exoskeleton.

Some insects also have wings and compound eyes.

SUCCESSFUL INSECTS

  • Insects can reproduce in large amounts, for example, aphids.
  • They have to reproduce quickly because of their short life span, like milkweed bugs.

Other insects also have different adaptations to help fight against predators.

Other insects have the ability to camouflage with their surroundings. This helps catch prey and hide from predators easily.

MADAGASCAR HISSING COCKROACHES

▫️OBSERVATIONS▫️

During this lab, we saw that the cockroaches could also climb upside down. That's because they have barbs on their legs and feet. These barbs help them climb well.

COCKROACH oBSERVATIONS

  • The cockroaches liked the dark.
  • They are nocturnal.
  • They make a hissing sound when they are scared.
  • They also hiss when the male wants the female's attention.
  • They also liked the sweet foods that we gave them.
