DEPTH PERCEPTION

RORY & RACHEL

Depth Perception
-The ability to recognize distances and 3-D.

Monocular depth allows distance and depth perception by using relative height, absence, interposition, light shadows, and size cues.

Motion Parallax is the apparent movement of stationaries relative to one another when observer changes.

Binocular Depth Cues depend upon the existence or movement of both eyes. (Convergence is when they turn inward.) Caused by retinal disparity.

Retinal Disparity is able to tell the difference between the two eyes views.
