  • Every 60 seconds an animal is abused.
  • 60 cents of each dollar donated is sent to ASPCA's treatment center.
  • the 40 cents go to vets, employees, and police.
  • Save these sad innocent animals from their bloody graves by donating.

  • Animals are given kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans.
  • Believe animals should be protected by the law, and taken care of lovingly.
  • Work nationally to rescue animals from cruelty everyday.
  • Believe animals deserve love from someone.

ASPCA'S HISTORY

  • Founded by Henry Bergh in 1866.
  • Henry believed animals should be respected and treated with kindness
  • He signed the"Declaration of the rights of animals". This began the ASPCA.

Legislative Victories

  • In Texas,  gas chambers can no longer be used
  • In Alabama new laws were passed to strengthen cruelty penalties
  • Illinois enacted new laws protecting chained dogs.
  • Bill passed that prohibits the use of tax dollars for horse slaughter
  • Most states have laws to protect dogs in puppy mills

  • Report animal cruelty 
  • Volunteer at your local animal shelter
  • Start a pet food bank 
  • Participate in the process of improving laws for animals
