  • From 6.7 billion in 2011 to 8.7 billion by 2035
  • Demand for energy must increase substantially over that period

CAUSES

  • Population growth
  • Urban life increasing
  • Anthropogenic cause

EFFECTS ON BIOSPHERE

  • More than 85% of the worlds current energy needs
  • Fossil fuels such as: coal, oil, natural gases
  • Using up our energy is causing pollution
  • Pollution is affecting the ozone layer

SOLUTIONS

  • Every additional dollar can generate 3 dollars in future fuel savings
  • Nuclear power reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 2.5 billion tons.
  • More money put into nuclear power can save us money and the environment
