  • Centriole- forms spindles for divisions.
  • Description- they look like noodles.

CILIA

  • Cilia- moves liquid past the surface of the cell, such as sperm this enables them to swim.
  • Definition- Cilia looks a little like grass.

CHROMATIN

  • Chromatin- packaging DNA into small volumes to fit into the nucleus and to protect the DNA.
  • Description- they look like bows or x's.

FLAGELLA

  • Flagella-is sensitive and temperatures outside of the cell.
  • Description- looks like a snake.

GOLGI APPARATUS

  • Golgi apparatus- modify, sort, and package proteins to be secreted.
  • Description-

LYSOSOMES

  • Lysosomes- digest excess or worn out organelles, food particles, and engulfed viruses or bacteria.
  • Description-looks like kiwi

MICROFILAMENT

  • Microfilament- assist with cell movement and are made of a protein called actin.
  • Description-look like candy.

MICROTUBULE

  • Microtubule- the routes upon which organelles move through the cell.
  • Description-

MITOCHONDRIA

  • Mitochondria- takes in nutrients from the cell, breaks it down, and turns it into energy.
  • Description-

NUCLEAR ENVELOPE

  • Nuclear envelope- permits free passage of water, ions, ATP, and other small molecules.
  • Description-

NUCLEOUS

  • Nucleous- rewrites RNA and combines it with protein.
  • Description-

NUCLEUS

  • Nucleus- the control center of the cell.
  • Description-

PLASMA MEMBRANE

  • Plasma membrane- regulates what enters and exits the cell.
  • Description-

RIBOSOME

  • Ribosome- makes proteins.
  • Description-

ROUGH ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM

  • RER- responsible for proteins.
  • Description-
