PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HOW DO TEENS INFLUENCE POPULAR CULTURE?

PRESENTATION CREATED BY: MICHAELA TANK

THE THINGS THEY BUY..

  • If a majority of the teenage population buys a certain product, the product will most likely "fly off the shelves".
  • Most teens enjoy buying similar things to their peers to feel accepted.
  • If a teenage girl sees another teenage girl wearing something that she likes, she will most likely go out and buy the product.
  • They influence this area so much because they have disposable incomes.
  • Generally, teens don't have bills to pay so, it gives them the freedom to spend.

WHAT ARTISTS THEY LIKE..

  • If the age group (teens) like an artist, that artist will do well.
  • Usually, when teens hear a good song they show their friends.
  • And in result, the friends will show their friends and the artist will make profit.
  • The artist makes profit because most teens love to socialize and music is a great social outlet.

WHAT THEY ARE EATING..

  • The companies teens generally like usually do well financially.
  • The majority of teens enjoy unhealthy foods.
  • I believe this is why obesity is an epidemic because one of the country's largest population, enjoys it.

SURVEY RESULTS

  • I took a class wide survey
  • I asked several questions and got some surprising and some expected answers.

DO YOU PREFER FASTFOOD OR HOME COOKED MEALS?

  • I surveyed 27 people.
  • 8 of 27 preferred fast food.
  • 19 of 27 preferred home cooked meals.
  • The results were suprising.

DO YOU HAVE A CELLPHONE?

  • 17 of 25 people said yes.
  • 8 of 25 people said no.
  • The results were not surprising.
  • The minority of people in this survey did not have cell phones.
  • The majority of people that took this surveyed had phones.

DO YOU HAVE PETS?

  • 20 of 26 people said yes.
  • 6 of 26 people said no.
  • The results were not surprising because having a pet is a very common thing.
  • One reasoning for this is their parents want to teach them responsibility.
  • That is why I believe the majority of the people surveyed said yes.

DO YOU PLAY SPORTS?

  • 23 of 27 people said yes.
  • 4 of 27 people said no.
  • I believe this is because sports are a great outlet for teens.

IN CONCLUSION,

  • Teens influence popular culture with the things they..
  • Buy,
  • Listen to,
  • Are interested in,
