PROCLAMATION OF 1763

  • British passed a law the said colonist could not pass the Appalachian Mountains

SUGAR ACT

  • Passed tax on sugar
  • Colonist hoped the lower tax would stop from smuggling sugar

  • To raise money the colonist put tax on almost any printed item
  • Printed items had to have a stamp which british officials applied
