What is it?
A compound present in blood platelets and serum that constricts the blood vessels and acts as a neurotransmitter.

WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
Serotonin is manufactured in the brain and the intestines. The majority of the body's serotonin, between 80-90%, can be found in the gastrointestinal tract. It can also be found in the blood platelets and the central nervous system
4.
Serotonin can affect mood and social behavior, appetite and digestion, sleep, memory and sexual desire and function.
5.
A lack of serotonin can lead to depression.
