• Disease killed as much as 1/3 of the Roman Empire population
• Was an ancient pandemic of either small pox or measles
• It rampaged throughout Persia to Spain from Britain to Egypt
• In AD178 it caused 2,000 deaths a day
• Total deaths in Rome were estimated at 5 million

I woke up this morning exhausted from worry. I was fearful that the plague would hit me next. As nervous as I was, I was still scared. I looked out my window to outraged villagers. I felt sorrowful after seeing those who were effected by the plague.
