In Montana there are lots of national parks, lakes, rivers. Montana is also known for it mountains, it has over 3,000 mountain peaks. One of their big parks is Yellowstone, it is mainly in Wyoming but a very small part is in Montana. One thing Yellowstone is famous for is Old Faithful geyser. They also have som dams in Montana like the Ryan dam, and the Hungry Horse dam. In
Montana they have two churches the St. Helena Cathedral, and the St. Francis Xavier church.
Montana is one of the biggest states, which means everything comes big in their state. Big parks, big lakes, big rivers, and big buildings. In the Museums of The Rockies has one of the biggest collection of dinosaur bones. You can visit a statue of Lewis and Clark in Montana and get a better understanding of our nation's history. Even though Yellowstone is mainly in Wyoming the year round entrance is in Montana. Yellow stone was the first national park.

In the west of Montana there are mountains and in the east there are plains. Even though it's the fourth largest state it's not very populated. The Great Plains take up three-fifths of Montana. A lot of cattle farms is in Montana( there is more cattle is Montana then people). The Montana Rocky Mountains are known for their clear lakes. They have over fourteen lakes and rivers.

Montana has lots of natural resources. It's rich in soil so they have lots of trees and wheat. They have lots of trees in Montana and lots of varieties. Montana is famous for its forrest industry. They also mine there, they mine gold, silver, copper, and coal. The coal mining is located in the eastern plains.
In the early 1700's Montana was just Indian tribes but in the mid1700's Europeans came. The Europeans set up a trading place for beaver skins. The Indians that live there hunted buffalo and had moveable homes called tepees. Some of them had permanent homes and hunted in groups. Before it was just french, but then Spanish came over. Then after a couple of years the land was claimed by them.

In 1803 the United States bought most of Montana from the French in the Louisiana purchase. The next year Lewis and Clark traveled to Montana by following the Missouri River. While they were there they met with Indians and one famous one that helped them along the way was Sacajawea. When they returned home they told how beautiful the place was and then lots of Americans traveled to Montana. In 1858 they found gold there then it boomed with people after all the gold was gone people stayed. As more Americans came the more Indians were pushed out of their homes and were forced to move.
Som of the most important history of Montana happened from the 1900 to 1930. Huge forrest fires which taught people about fire safety, huge dams were built, and population increase. 1914 women won the right to vote in Montana. Jeannette Rankin was from Montana and wasthe first voted girl in congress. Oil was discovered by Cat Creek field. 1972 new state constitution was adopted.
He created 13 vaccines and saved more lives than any other doctor in the 20th century.
She was the first woman to be elected into congress at a time where woman couldn't vote.
