HISTORY OF VINEYARD VINES

vineyard vines was founded in my 1998.

Brothers Ian and Shep Murray founded Vineyard Vines.

The Murray brothers grew up in Connecticut

"In the late nineties we found ourselves miserable behind desks in Manhattan so we decided to trade in our business suits for bathing suits by selling ties so we wouldn't have to wear them. We got our wisdom teeth pulled while we still had insurance, leased cars while we still had jobs and signed up for every credit card we could. We quit our jobs within ten minutes of each other, ordered some drinks, clinked our glasses together and vineyard vines was officially open for business. "

How Vineyard Vines was created

• brothers became sick of working behind desks
• decided to sell their ties so they didn't have to wear them and quit their jobs
• created their new business, vineyard vines.

they delivered their first 800 ties on July 3rd, 1998. They sold out within a week

There's a total of 60 vineyard vine stores and outlets across America.
