ABOUT GVP

• Born: December 8, 1929 in Ha Ta Shang, Laos
• Died: January 6, 2011 in Clovis, CA
• Nengchu Vang, Song Thao, 8 sisters, and 2 brothers
• Two wives and 25 children

GVP

• Had the desire to help his Hmong people to his military career
• Graduated from Lao Dong Hene's Officers School in 1952
• 1960, was second lieutenant and served as the military chief
• 1961 to 1975, led his troops to achieve three missions
• Successfully did so for fourteen years

WHY I ADMIRE GVP?

• Dedicated into his work
• Helped the Hmong people come to the U.S
• Fought in the Vietnam war
• Father figure to the Hmong people
• He cared about the Hmong people's freedom
