DAFFODIL PROJECT

STEP 1: ASK A TESTABLE QUESTION

  • How does ____ affect ____?
  • How does a refrigeration affect how fast the bulb lasts?
  • How does bone meal affect how many leaves the plants have?
  • Hiw does a ref

Format:if__________,
(Experimental procedure)
Then_____________,
(Prediction)
Because___________,
(Why you made this prediction)

Hypothesis: if one table spoon of bone meal is added to the hole when a daffodil bulb is planted, then the height of the grown daffodil will be taller, because phosphorus makes the plants healthier.

Hypothesis: if a daffodil bulbs are placed in a refrigerated one moth before before plating, then the daffodils will begin growing sooner because temperature change causes bulbs to come our of dormancy.

Step 3: Write a Procedure

Procedures:

1. Measure the circumference of the bulbs.
2. Measure the mass of the bulbs.
3. Dig U-shaped holes 15 cm deep placing removed dirt in the bucket.
4. Put one level scope of bone meal in half of the holes.
5. Place bulbs in the bottom of the hole with the pointed side up. Half of the refrigerated bulbs should have bone meal and half should not.
6. Refill the holes with dirt from the buckets.
7. Put away equipment and wash your hands.
8. Apply uniform water to bulbs.o
9. Check beds once a week.
10. Record dates of first growth.
11. Measure the height of plants once a week.
12. Record bloom dates.
13.
