GEOGRAPHY

  • It is the land bridge between North and South America.
  • It also controls Panama Canal. Panama has over 500 rivers.
  • Has coastline, 397 miles on the Atlantic,746 miles on the Pacific.
  • They have a dormant volcano called the Barú Volcano.
  • 2 Mountain ranges, Cordillera Central and Andean mountain system.

The exchange rate for $1 is one balboa.

INDEPENDENCE

  • They gained independence November 28,1821.
  • They gained it by the Hay-Herrán Treaty, signed by Columbia.
  • It granted the Isthmus of Panama to the USA.
