NICHE

  • A niche is the space in the enviornment that an organism fills
  • Some predators attack by running for long periods of time and others sneak up on their prey

COMMENSALISM

  • an association between two organisms where one benefits and the other isn't helped or hurt
  • Sharks and remora

CARRYING CAPACITY

  • The maximum amount of animals an environment can support
  • The deer by the Grand Canyon exceeded their carrying capacity and many died

HERBIVORE

  • An animal that only eats plants
  • A deer is a herbivore

HETEROTROPH

  • An organism which uses organic carbon to grow cells
  • All animals are heterotroph

PRODUCER

  • A producer is a plant usually which produces food for consumers
  • Any plant which can be eaten

FOOD CHAIN

  • The chain which shows who eats who
  • Humans are on top of the food chain of the earth

CARNIVORE

  • A carnivore is an animal which feeds on other animals only.
  • A lion is a carnivore
