THEME 1 LOCATION

  • Absolute location- is found by naming the longitude and latitude lines that cross exactly at that place
  • Relative location- a place that is in relation to do another place
  • The absolute location of Paris, France is 48.8567° N, 2.3508° E
  • A relative location to the Eiffel Tower is that it is next to the Seine River

THEME 2 PLACE (PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS)

  • Mountains: there are no mountains in Paris, but there are a ton of mountains in France
  • Plains: yes Paris has a plain called the Paris Basin it is constituting the lowland area of Paris.
  • Plateaus: Paris has a plateau located in the city called the Paris Plateau it covers 41 square miles of the city.
  • Climate: Paris has a mild climate with mild winters and mild summers
  • Bodies of water: the Seine River is located in Paris

THEME 2 PLACE (HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS)

  • People: they mostly speak French, are polite, more serious and mature, ,ore strict, and wear appropriate clothing
  • Culture: the French are known for there cooking, art, fashion, they kiss each other on the cheek as a greeting, and they table manners are really important.
  • Religion: the most popular one is Roman Catholicism, but they still practice Islam, Protestantism, and Judaism.
  • Language: 88% of the people speak French
  • Building and landmarks: the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathdral
  • Cities: Paris, France is the capital of France

THEME 3 HUMAN ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION

  • How people depend on their environment: people depend on their environment everyday. People depend on the mountains and rivers to provide water to drink and clean.They use the forest to get wood to make furniture and to make fires. They also use stones such as marble, slate, and granite are used for building materials.
  • How do people modify to their environment: The environment in Paris has changed in several ways. Cars and industrial plants have been giving off a lot of pollution. Water pollution has also been a problem it has occurred from urban waste and trash from the city. Old buildings and factories are being redesigned for other reasons
  • How have people adapted to their environment: The people have adapted to their environment by wearing the right clothes depending on the weather. They have also adapted by wearing learning the language, cultures, and values.

THEME 4 MOVEMENT

  • People: People transport in many different ways the fastest way is to use public tranportation. Such as, the subway called 'Le Metro' and buses. Renting or having a bike, motorcycle, or scooter is also a good way to travel. People still like to use cars but the traffic is slow and it's hard to find a parking space.
  • Goods: They export a ton of goods such as, machinery, transportation equipment, plastics, iron, steel, cars, and petroleum. They also import oil, manufactured products, and textiles. They import and export by sea, railways, and transportation.
  • Ideas: The ideas are moved around on the Internet, they can be sent through emails. People can share ideas by talking on the bus, train, car, and etc.

THEME 5 REGIONS

  • Physical regions: Physical regions in Paris are the Seine River, the Paris Basin, and the Paris Plateau
  • Cultural region: The French love music, art, food, and architecture. When they cook the use fresh foods and prepare as good as they can. They love music cause they use it to celebrate important events. Art is important cause they have a great history of art. Architecture is also important cause they have wonderful building and monuments.
  • Agricultural Region: Paris, France isn't really know for its farming.
  • Political Region: France is the largest country in Western Europe and is divided into 22 regioms
