FALL OF SAIGON

  • Without US presence Saigon was vulnerable
  • Saigon wasn't prepared for invasion
  • People's Army advances

DETAILS

  • 1975
  • After capture renamed Ho Chi Mihn City
  • Ended Vietnam, severe losses on both sides
  • Started the process uniting Vietnam under Hanoi
  • Violated Paris Peace talks

Significance:
North Vietnam captures South Vietnam, officially ending the war
