PRESENTATION OUTLINE
R is for Renewed
Montag renews himself when he submerges himself in water. He's being "baptized" which allows him to be new and let's his sins be forgiven. After Montag does this, the hound is unable to track down Montag with his skills that "never fail".
S is for Suicidal
Beatty was suicidal. When Montag was ordered to burn down his house, he decided to also burn Beatty. Beatty didn't try to stop the burning of himself or move out of the way, therefore, he had a death wish.
T is for Troubled
The whole society Montag lives in is troubled except for the few hobos. Teenagers find their fun in hurting people or running people over like they tried to do to Montag. Montag was saved from the car by falling down and the teenagers being selfish.
U is for Undercover
Faber is working "undercover" with Montag. Faber helped Montag escape the mechanical hound by giving him clothes and whiskey. After Montag left, Faber had to wash his sidewalk and get rid of Montag's scent so it didn't get tracked back to him.
V is for Victim
The mechanical hound isn't supposed to ever fail. When Montag isn't able to be found, the police capture a random guy walking on the street because he is pictured as "odd" for walking at night. They have to capture this guy and say it's Montag or the hound won't look unstoppable.
W is for Worthy
When Montag escapes to the railroad tracks, he finds the hobos. He doesn't think he'll fit in with them but they let him know that he is "worthy" of them since he read the book of Eclessiasties. Once you read a book, they're able to make you remember it.
X is for Xenophobia
The firemen and the other people that they would consider "normal" in their society, are afraid of the others. People who have books are looked at as a threat. Those who have knowledge are dangerous because they could try to take over.
Y is for Yellow
When Montag made it to the hobos, they were sitting around the fire. Usually in their society, fire kills books/people. The fire is warm and friendly when Montag is around it with the hobos and they are having a happy time.
Z is for Zombies
Most of the people in their society do the same thing. When the alarm sounded in their parlors, they all woke up and watched the chase. This is similar to zombies who do what they're supposed to do or are "programmed" to do.
