Part Two

Changes in the School Calender

A study showed that High schoolers learned better when school started at 11 am. Some schools even start at 8 am, leaving their students fatigued in their early classes. Other schools believe stretching the school is more efficient. School should not be stretched, rather shortened for the benefit of a student's health.

Starting school later or shortening the week by one day, would leave students for extra time to develop hobbies and find what interests them. At Seattle's Ingraham High School, one girl had to wake up at 5:30am to catch two Metro buses to be at school in time. 70% of teen are not getting enough sleep. Experts say student aren't able to pay attention when they are trying to catch up on sleep
