PARTITIVE ARTICLES

  • Masculine = du
  • Feminine = de la
  • Vowel = de l'
  • Plural = des

EXAMPLES OF PARTITIVE ARTICLES:

  • Voilà du poulet.
  • Here is some chicken.
  • Voilà des petits pois.
  • Here are some peas.
  • Voilà de la tarte.

NEGATIVE PARTITIVE ARTICLES

  • These change to de
  • or d' before a vowel.

  • In general, I like all cake.

ALSO USED FOR:

  • Something specific.
  • Describing a certain cake.
  • Voici le gateau que tu as commandé.
  • Here is the cake you ordered.

DEFINITE ARTICLES ARE USED AFTER:

  • Aimer
  • Mes amis aiment la glace.
  • Préférer
  • Moi, je préfère le gateau.

NEGATIVE DEFINITE ARTICLES:

  • It stays the same as positive.
  • Je n'aime pas la glace.
  • I don't like ice cream.
  • Nous n'aimons pas les légumes.
  • We don't like vegetables.

INDEFINITE ARTICLES
