RULES AND EXAMPLES: PASSED VS. PAST

  • Passed- is the past tense of the verb to pass.
  • Past- relates to location and is acting as an adverb. It is used in motions.
  • Examples:
  • She walked past the school.
  • I passed the science test!

PRACTICE

  • A. The heroes passed a village on their way towards the mountains.
  • B. The heroes past a village on their way towards the mountains.
