types of pathogens

  • parasites
  • virus
  • bacteria
  • fungi

parasites

  • parasites are living creatures that live and feed of a host
  • parasites are usually smaller that their host and don't kill them
  • if a parasite killed his host he would hav to find another to feed from
  • parasites are catagoriest by their interaction with host

virus

  • virus are small infectious agent that replicate inside living cells
  • virus are very dangerous and can even cause death
  • virus are non-living pathogens but are upon the deadliest
  • virus are single celled and have no internal cell structure
  • virus can be transefered by air, blood, and water.

bacteria

  • bacteria are living organisms and are also single celled
  • bacteria can either be bad or good depending on the DNA
  • bacteria can also be good to one animal, and bad to another
  • bacteria are prokaryotic microorganisms and are usually a few micrometers
  • bacteria also come in may shapes and sizes

fungi

  • fungi is a living organism and can live on most surfaces
  • fungi is part of a large group of organisms that can include yeast and mold
  • fungi is abundant worldwide and usually grow on dead matter
