- Saul was born a devout Jew-Pharisees
- He was very dedicated to his religion and was very well educated - law of Moses
- He was favored by the Jewish leaders because of these qualities
- He was given the role to be the first to jail and persecute the Christains
- Jerusalem
SAUL➡️ PAUL
- Scripture Reference: (Acts 9:3-8)
- On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”d He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.” The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, for they heard the voice but could see no one. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing;* so they led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus.

- He was baptized once he got to Damascus
- From that point on, he only preached God's word
- His sight was returned and his name was changed to Paul

- He was known to preach to the Gentiles
- Not physically impressive
- Wasn't actually a very good speaker
- He participated in stoning the first martyr, St. Stephen
- The most prominent apostle in forming Church communities
- Wrote much of the New Testament
- He is the Patron Saint of London, Authors, Press, Publishers and Writers
- Feast day: June 29
