The most memorable architecture in Egypt is the great pyramid of Giza.The Great Pyramid of Giza was the tallest man made structure in the world for 3800 years which is not only a testament to its durability but to its mark as one of the most remarkable structures built. It is no wonder that The Great Pyramid of Giza was placed on the list of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

What is the purpose?
The purpose of the pyramids in Egypt is to protect the desist kings body and there riches.they also would put the queen right next to the king once she died. In Egypt there were a lot of sand storms. When they would try to bury the king in the sand and a sand storm came the kings body would rise. So to fix the problem they made the pyramids. They put all the kings treasures and things he liked and food he like in there with him. In Egypt they worshiped the sun god ra. Did you know that when the sun hit the tip of the pyramid it was noon.

Facts about maya
Pyramids were the largest buildings in Mayan cities and were built as temples and royal tombs. Shrines where sacrifices were made to the gods were at the top, while burial chambers were hidden deep inside. The pyramids were built of stone, and covered with red-painted plaster, but this plaster has not survived.

The Mayans where known for there pyramids and there art. There are many Mayan pyramids and they are all use for the same things. Mayan use those temples to worship there gods and do sacrifices to there gods.

What's the point...
The Mayas built their temples on immense pyramids with steeped bases, and each side of the pyramid had a set of steps that lead up to the temple. the interior was decorated with mural paintings.Of course, these temples were built for religious purposes. For example, the Sun Temple was built to worship the sun god. Inside of these temples, they Mayas preformed all type of ceremonies within two small, stepped, dark rooms inside of this temple. The back wall of the inner room has a carved face of this god. The architects have also decided to have a sky roof to truly worship[ their god. This shows how creative and spiritual they were
