HISTORY OF PCP

  • PCP (Phencyclidine) is a peace pill.
  • PCP is a drug that chills people(calms down).
  • It is listed as a schedule II drug by the US.
  • PCP is also combined with Marijuana.
  • PCP was developed in 1950's as surgical anesthetic.

  • PCP is A white crystalline powder  
  • It readily dissolves in water or alcohol
  • PCP is usually sprayed onto a mint,parsley,oregano,or marijuana
  • PCP in humans was discontinued in 1965, because it was found that
  • patients often became agitated .

How is it used?

  • PCP can be snorted,smoked,injected or swallowed
  • It is commonly sold as powder or liquid.
  • It can also be used in marijuana.

SHORT-TERM EFFECTS

  • A moderate amount of PCP often causes people to fell detached 
  • It also makes them distant and estranged from their surroundings
  • It can also cause shallow breathing,flushing,profuse sweating
  • Another is that it will generalize numbness of the extremities
  • And poor muscular coordination .

LONG-TERM EFFECTS

  • PCP is addicting; that is, its repeated use often leads to psychological
  • dependance,craving, and compulsive PCP-seeking behavior
  • People who use PCP many times (often) report memory loss, difficulties
  • with speech and thinking,depression, and weight loss
