PRESENTATION OUTLINE

PEARLS BEFORE SWINE

History- It was said by Jesus to tell his disciples that you shouldn't, or wouldn't be inclined, to give something of high value to someone who wouldn't appreciate it, or who would just squander it because it was easily begotten.

History- In the Sermon On the Mount, Jesus admonished his followers to, " cast not your pearls before swine." That is, his followers were to deliver their message to those who would appreciate it.

The modern usage of the phrase, "don't cast your pearls before swine", is you shouldn't bother giving anything of value to those who will squander it or not appreciate it because it was easily received.

Jesus sacrificing his life for our sins was "casting his pearls before swine," because some people don't appreciate the value of what he did.

I realized I was casting my pearls before swine when I was helping my friend with his homework and he wasn't even listening.
