The Incas where the first people who lived in Perú long ago

The coins are Nuevo Sols too but they come in 1,5,10,20 and 50 centímo.

The Peruvian flag was adopted in 1824 by the Peruvian government.

The items on the flag all mean something.The llama is for all the llamas.The Chicano tree is for all the herbs they grow.The Cornicopia is for how thankful they are.

The red on the flag is for the blood of all the incas who died for the county to gain their independence.

One famous Peruvian is Mario Vargas Llosa he is famous because he is a politician, writer, college professor, and many more things.Also, he won a 2010 Nobel Price in literature.

Another famous Peruvian citizen is Edgar Prado.He is a Jockey.He races in many famous races such as the Kentucky Derby.

The Last famous Peruvian is Nene Cubillas.He is the most famous Peruvian soccer player.FIFA the soccer association considers him one of the greatest.He allowed Perú to get to three World Cups.

In Perú Holy Week, and Easter are both very important, and celebrated by most of the population.There are many parades during this time and most business are closed for these events.

One of the biggest religious holidays in Perú is always on the 18th and 19th of October.It celebrates the feast of the Lord of Miracles.Devoted men carry a 4000 pound image of Jesus that has survived over 350 years.It is called the fiesta del Señor de los Milagros.

Inti Raymi which means Sun festival, was the Inca's way of celebrating the winter solstice.Is like the American New Year's

Many Peruvian festivals come from when the Spaniards came.Some include,Corpus Christi, in the picture above.

Carnavales are a fun and enjoyable celebration in the month of February.Kids and adults throw water and each other for fun.

The Independence Day for Peru is on July 28th, the celebration takes place on the 28,and 29th.It is know as Fiestas Patrias

Children go to School at 8:00, and come home around 3:00 children usually start school in Kindergarten.

The School schedule runs from March until December.The Summer months are December through March.

Most families who live in a city have vacation homes to go to in the Summer months.
