WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

• Means out of 100, so 15% out of 100.
• 15%= 15/100= 0.15
• Example- find 30% of £800, 30% of 800
• =30/100 x 800
• = 0.3 x £800 = £240

QUESTIONS

• Question Q1. In a class of 25 pupils, 24% live in a flat.
• How many pupils live in the flat?
• 24% is equivalent to 24/100
• 24% of 25 = 24/100 × 25 = 6
• Therefore 6 pupils live in a flat.

• 1% of 20000 = 20000 ÷ 100 = 200
• 8% of 20000 = 8 × 200 = 1600.
• Method 2:
• 8/100 × 20000 = 1600.
