Perceptional, Functional, and Formal Regions.
A region is a part of the world that has at least one characteristic in common (either human or physical) or is connected in some way because of the way people use it.
There are three types of regions: formal regions, functional regions, and perceptional regions.
Formal regions are parts of the world that share a human or physical characteristic. There are three types of formal regions: physical, political, and cultural.
Some examples of physical regions are atmospheric, landscape, and oceanic.
Political regions are regions created by a government or other political organization.
Cultural regions are regions that share a common: language, religion, ethnicity, government, or economy.
Functional Regions are a group of places connected by the way people use them.
Perceptional regions are based on people's view/perception.
