PERIODIC TABLE PLAN

  • Add name of group of elements on table.Colours.
  • Show how they can be used in our daily lives.
  • Write who founded certain elements
  • Add why it is so important to have and understand.

WHY IS THE PERIODIC TABLE SO IMPORTANT?

  • It gives us a chance to explore our Science in more depth.
  • It makes us aware of any dangerous objects or gases
  • The table can help us with our own inventions by showing us which equipment is safe or is needed

COLOURS (GROUPS) OF ELEMENTS

  • The colours represent different types of elements.
  • Some of these groups include: Yellow Boxes - metalloids. Light Blue Boxes - nonmetals. Dark Blue Symbols - Solids. Magenta Symbols - Gases. Bright Blue Symbols (Hg and Br) - Liquids. Red Symbols - Radioactive Elements.

HOW ARE THE ELEMENTS USED IN OUR LIVES?

  • H2O (an element)is used as water which people need to survive.
  • O (oxygen on the periodic table) is used for human life as air.
  • AU(gold on the periodic table) is used in ornamental objects.
  • Ni (the periodic symbol for nickel) is used for in making stainless steel.
  • Cu (copper symbol on the table) is used in electrical equipment.
  • Pb (lead on the periodic table) is used in ink in pencils or pens.
