FIRST (KNOWN) VERTICAL AXIS WINDMILL

  • Used to grind grains and pump water.
  • Made around 1500 years ago.
  • This led to todays windmills that can power entire cites.

THE FIRST REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS

  • Known as Yakhchals.
  • Made around 400 BC.
  • Used in long hot days in the dessert.
  • This led to todays refrigerators which can keep things cold for what seems to be forever.

PERSIAN BRIDGES

  • Made of strung together boats,added with dirt and wood/Planks on top.
  • That led to todays bridges,which are a lot more advanced in terms of build quality.
  • Made around 480 BC.
  • Led to todays bridges which can transport people and products over water easily.

  • Underground channels used to transport water to dry areas,villages and mountains.
  • Made during the period 550-331 bc.

  • A large royal garden with multiple passages that bring water to parts of it that was advanced in term of build quality.

ROYAL ROAD

  • A road that was 1700 miles.It went from Sardis to Susa.
  • It was built very well because you can still walk on it.

PASARGADAE

  • Pasargadae was a City that was meant to withstand a magnitude 7 earthquake,which was very advanced for its time.
  • Made between 559-530 Bc
