STRENGTHS

HARMONY-ACHIEVER-RESTORATIVE-ACTIVATOR-EMPATHY
I have a changed mindset after this class. I am now looking for strengths in my students and colleagues. I am also thinking about my own strengths and what people I need on my team to compliment my strengths. The places where I am weak, I am looking for people who have those strengths to learn and grow from. How can I build strength in strategic thinking and looking at details? I would like to get better at that.

What teachers say matter.
What does it mean to teach?
Make the implicit explicit.
Why do we make the decisions that we do?
Elevate the profession.
Advocate for students and teachers.

BE BRAVE

  • Ask questions
  • Be honest about what I don't know.
  • Show-up for family, friends, students, and colleagues.
  • Let my self be seen. Show my weaknesses and be vulnerable.
  • I will listen closely and look for strengths in others.

ADVOCACY

GOING PUBLIC
I will stand up for what I believe in.
Stay true to my convictions.
I will go public with what is best for teachers and students.
I will be guided by my strengths and values and not my fears.
I will seek those who disagree with me and listen closely.
I see myself as an active citizen, someone who in concert with others can create positive social change.

THE MULTIPLIER EFFECT

Create a holding tank for ideas that need action.
Just say it once, don't over contribute.
Ask, "How do you think we should solve it?"
Stay in sight, don't pull ahead.
Set a waiting period before responding.
Acknowledge the struggle, "what we are trying to do is hard."
