PERSONALITY DISORDERS

PERSONALITY DISORDER:

  • a deeply ingrained and maladaptive pattern of behavior of a specified kind,
  • typically manifest by the time one reaches adolescence
  • causing long-term difficulties in personal relationships

AVOIDANT DISORDER

  • feelings of inadequacy and are extremely sensitive to what others think about them
  • described by others as being “shy,” “timid,” “lonely,” and “isolated"
  • They desire affection and acceptance and may fantasize about idealized realtion ships with others
  • Avoids occupational activities
  • Unwilling to get involved with others

ANTHROPOPHOBIA

  • Fear of talking or meeting new people
  • Leads to social withdraw
  • Cause a person to not make any friends
  • Keeps a person from trying new things

PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER

  • Preoccupied with unjustified doubts if others
  • Reluctant to confide in others
  • Bears grudges persistently
  • Thinks others are exploiting or harming them
  • Reads hidden meaning as threatning

SCHIZOTYPAL DISORDER

  • characterized by someone who has trouble in establishing and maintaining close relationships
  • have extreme discomfort with such relationships
  • may be unusually superstitious or preoccupied with paranormal phenomena

PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER

  • -Exploiting, harming, or deceiving someone
  • -Doubtful about the trustworthiness of others
  • -To confide in others because of fear used maliciously against them
  • Perceives attacks on their character or reputation that are not apparent to others
  • Has constant suspicions regarding fidelity of a spouse
