  • Peru is 496,225 square miles.
  • Lima is the Capitol of Peru.

  • Climate of Peru is very diverse.
  • The coast that is subtropical has little rainfall
  • The Andes make it difficult to tell the climate

  • Made with Citrus Juice and Chili Peppers
  • Onions along with sweet potato and lettuce
  • Also corn and fish
  • Ceviche is normally served at lunch.

  • Causa is normally served with hard boiled eggs and olives

LORD OF THE EARTHQUAKES

  • Lord of the Earthquakes is in Cuzco. March - April
  • In 1650 a painting of Christ on the Cross
  • Is said to overcome a powerful and destructive earthquake
  • Since then locals have paid homage to 'Taitacha Temblores'
  • A mixture so Spanish and Quechua meaning Lord of the Earthquakes

LORD OF MIRACLES

  • October 18-28 in Lima and dates back to colonial times.
  • A slave from Angola drew a image of Black Christ on the walls of a hut
  • The hut was in Pachacamilla near Lima and all attempts to erase has failed
  • Which sparked devotion to the painting
  • The spark grew more when the painting survived an earthquake in 1746

  • On July 28 and 29 Peru celebrates its birth
  • General Jose de San Martin,liberator, proclaimed independance
  • At dawn on the 28th 21 flag salute begins the celebration

  • Found while repairing Mexico City Catherdral

  • 8.9 feet tall
  • Found on August 13,1790
  • Found a few feet away from where
