The priciples
TASTE IS TRANSFERRED TO FOOD THROUGH HEAT.
THIS TASTE IS IMPOTENT AFTER 24 HOURS.
WE ARE STRICT TO ASSUME THAT UTENSILS SHOULDN'T BE USED EVEN AFTER 24 HOURS.

WHAT CAN'T YOU KASHER
China, pottery, earthenware, cement, concrete, and enameled pots may not be kashered for Pesach.
The Ashkenazic custom is to not kasher glass or crystal, with the exception of glass stovetops.
There is a difference of opinion as to whether plastic and other synthetic materials are included.
