GENERAL INFORMATION

  • The pharaoh was the high priest of all temples, the head of law and administration.
  • Egyptians believed that pharaohs were half gods and half human.
  • Pharaoh meant "Great House"
  • Priests and pharaohs were only allowed in temples.
  • Pharaohs were placed in tombs with many goods once they were mummified,then they went to the afterlife.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Egyptians believed that the pharaohs sprit lived eternity.
  • Egyptians did not call their ruler a pharaoh until 1554, during their 18th dynasty.

  • One of his minor wives was the cause of his destruction.
  • She plotted her army to murder him.
  • She wanted her son to be the ruler.

  • She was 17 when her father died.
  • Her and her brother ruled Egypt.

KING TUT

  • One of the best known pharaohs of ancient Egypt.
  • His original name is Tutankhaten.
  • He died at the age 18 in Egypt.
  • His name means "The Liking Image Of Aten".
  • He married his half sister and the daughter of Ikhanaton and Nefertiti.

KING TUT

  • His discovery of his tomb was in 1922.
  • King Tut's tomb was in The Valley Of The Kings.
  • Seventy Days after his death, Tuts body was laid to rest and the tomb was sealed.
  • The most fascinating item found was the stone, sarcophagus containing 3 coffins, when the 3rd coffin was raised, King Tut's royal mummy was revealed.
  • His body was preserved more than 3,000 years!

RAMSES II

  • He became a pharaoh at the age of 24.
  • He had a large amount of kids, up to 44-56 sons and 40-44 daughters.
  • Ramses II was the third king of the 19th dynasty.
  • His parents were Seti I and Queen Tuya.
  • There are more statues of him than of any other Egyptian Pharaoh.

KHUFU

  • Was the 2nd King of the 4th dynasty.
  • Khufu had 4 wives and 15 children and possibly 2 more.
  • He died in 5566 BC.
  • Khufu has 2 monuments dedicated in his honor.
  • Those monuments are , Great Pyramid Of Giza, and Khufu Ship.

KHAFRA

  • King Khafra is the son of Khufu.
  • He married Khameremebty II, Persenet, and Hekenuhedjet.
  • King Khafra had 7 kids.
  • He has 1 monument, The Pyramid Of Khafra.
  • He was an Ancient Egyptian King of the 4th dynasty.

HATSHEPSUT

  • Hatshepsut was the 5th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty.
  • Her husband was Thutmose II.
  • She had one child, Nerferure.
  • She had 3 monuments,Temple Of Karnack, Deirel-Bahri, and Speos Artemidos.
  • She was the most famous pharaoh that was a woman.

THUTMOSE III

  • Had 6 wives and 10 children, including Neferitiry.
  • His monument is Cleopatra's Needles.
  • He was the 6th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty.
  • He died in Egypt c. 1426 BC.

AKHENATEN

  • Was one of the 1st pharaohs who tried to make Egypt a monotheistic religion.
  • He married Nerfertiti, and 4 other wives.
  • He had Tutankhamun, and 8 other kids.
  • Akhenaten was a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty.
  • He had 3 monuments.
