PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.) In 1565 Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and his Spanish colonization came to the Philippines and made the first permanent settlement in Cebu. Most of the archipelago became apart of Spanish rule. They ruled from 1521-1898 for 333 years.
Philippines gained its independence from America 1946 and again from Japan Council of State and again in Japan in 1945.

It was set up it was in american control then taking over by japan and after winning in ww2 and fighting on the allied side America supporting the Philippines in getting independence. The emergency rule was also intended to eradicate the roots of rebellion and promote a rapid trend for national develop.
Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin was a Filipino lawyer and politician who served as President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. from 1972 until 1981 and his regime as dictator was known for corruption, extravagance, and brutality Public outrage led to the snap elections of 1986 and to the People Power Revolution in February 1986, which removed him from power.
Today the Philippines self governs itself and the Philippines president who runs the country is Benigno Noynoy Aquino the third with Jejomar Binyay.Today the type of government the Philippines has is a Republic like the United States. Yes the Philippines government did change since prior to 1946 the Philippines had a puppet government ran by Japan which was known as the Second Philippine Republic. With Japan they no longer had Philippino pesos, they had money known as Replacement notes which was known as Mickey mouse money and technically since Japan ruled the Philippines the Philippines had Japan’s government which was a constitutional monarchy.
According to the latest poll it is proclaimed that in the Philippines democracy is thriving with 7 out of 10 Filipinos agreeing that they are happy with the democracy system in their nation which was conducted by the Social Weather Station. With President Benigno Aquino the third he surpassed economically the ex president of the Philippines which shows progression in democracy in the Philippines. Since the Philippines is doing good and is under Philippine rule the Philippines has one successful democracy.
