PHOTOSYNTHESIS & CELLULAR RESPIRATION

BY: DION & LING

PHOTOSYNTHESIS

THE PROCESS

  • Chlorophyll absorbs light+energy from sunlight
  • Converts CO2+H2O into sugar and oxygen
  • This process happens in the chloroplast

STOMATA

Small opening in leaves of plants where gases are exchanged

CELLULAR RESPIRATION

STEP BY STEP

  • Oxygen and glucose goes into mitochondria
  • Chemical reactions happens in the mitochondria
  • Break down glucose o CO2 and H2O
  • Energy (ATP) is made.

CONNECTIONS

  • Both processes use
  • ATP, CO2, H2O, O2 & glucose
  • Photosynthesis is the same steps as cellular respiration but reversed

QUIZZLE

  • What does the chlorophyll do?
  • What does both cellular respiration and photosynthesis include?
  • Where do chemical reactions take place in cellular respiration?
  • What's a stomata?
  • Where does photosynthesis take place?

ANSWERS

  • Absorbs sunlight for photosynthesis
  • Energy, CO2, H2O, O2, and glucose
  • The mitochondria
  • Opening in leaves for gas exchange
  • The chloroplast
