PHOTOSYNTHESIS

THE PROCCESS OF CONVERTING LIGHT ENERGY TO CHEMICAL ENERGY

WHERE

PHOTOSYNTHESIS TAKES PLACE IN CHLOROPLASTS, LOCATED IN PLANT CELLS

WHAT

  • THE REACTANTS THAT GO INTO PHOTOSYNTHESIS ARE WATER, CARBON DIOXIDE AND SUNLIGHT
  • THE REACTANTS COME FROM THE ATMOSPHERE
  • THE PRODUCTS THAT COME OUT ARE GLUCOSE AND OXYGEN
  • THE PRODUCTS THAT COME OUT GO TO THE AIR

CELLULAR RESPIRATION

PROVIDES ENERGY IN THE FORM OF CHEMICAL ENERGY IN BOTH ANIMAL AND PLANT CELLS

WHERE

CELLULAR RESPIRATION TAKES PLACE IN THE MITOCHONDRIAN

WHAT

  • The reactants that go into Cellular Respiration are oxygen and glucose
  • The reactants come from you breathing and eating
  • The products that come out of it are water, chemical energy and carbon dioxide
  • Carbon dioxide goes into the air and chemical energy goes toward your body
  • And you pee the water out

FERMENTATION

MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR CHEMICAL ENERGY TO BE CONTINUALLY PRODUCED

WHERE

FERMENTATION TAKES PLACE IN CYTOPLASM IN BOTH ANIMAL AND PLANT CELLS

WHAT

  • The reactant that goes into fermentation is Glucose
  • The reactant comes from eating
  • The products that come out are a small amount of energy, alcohol and lactic acid
  • The energy goes toward your body
  • And lactic acid and alcohol are waste products and your body breaks them down

PHOTOSYNTHESIS AND CELLULAR RESPIRATION WORK TOGETHER BY PLANTS NEEDING CARBON DIOXIDE AND WATER IN PHOTOSYNTHESIS AND BOTH ARE RELEASED DURING CELLULAR RESPIRATION

WHAT SIMILARITIES DO ALL THREE OF THEM HAVE?

Untitled Slide

  • They all produce energy
  • Glucose comes in or out of all of them
  • And they all happen in plant or animal cells

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE THREE?

Untitled Slide

  • They happen in different parts of a cell
  • They provide different things so we can live
  • They have different combinations of products
