  • Speed- The speed of radio waves is approximately 185 miles per second, which is also the speed of light.

  • Uses- Cooking, mobile phones
  • Danger- cause internal heating of body tissues

  • Uses- optical fibre communications
  • Danger - is felt as heat and causes skin burns

VISIBLE LIGHT

  • Uses- seeing

ULTRAVIOLATE

  • Uses - detecting forged bank notes

X-RAYS

  • Medical images of bones
  • Danger - damage cells, causing mutations (which may lead to cancer) and cell death
